Find out about Windsor and Maidenhead Telecare services available to older people who want to live independently
Older residents in the Windsor and Maidenhead Royal Borough who want to continue living independently can find out more about Telecare* services available to them at an awareness morning at St Mark's Day Hospital in Maidenhead on Saturday October 13.
The awareness session, which runs in the occupational therapy department from 9.30am to 1pm, has been organised by the Royal Borough, Maidenhead and District Housing Association and Berkshire East Primary Care Trust. This is an open, free event for which booking is not required.
On the day, residents and their carers can find out more about Telecare services which range from a basic alarm connected to a call centre providing emergency and non-emergency assistance, to an integrated system which could include fall detector alarms, gas, flood and temperature monitors and medication dispensers.
Telecare products can be provided - if identified as appropriate - following an assessment of need by a Royal Borough social worker or occupational therapist.
Cllr John Story, lead member for Windsor and Maidenhead adult services, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for older residents, their families and carers to find out more about the huge range of services available to them.
"Experts will be on hand to discuss individual requirements and demonstrations and presentations will show how Telecare can provide invaluable support for older people and those with long-term needs to live independently by effectively managing their wellbeing. "
