Last Chance to Register to Vote in Maidenhead

Maidenhead Royal Borough residents are reminded that they have just a matter of days left to register if they want to cast their vore in the local council elections on May 3.

The registration deadline of Wednesday April 18 is fast approaching and Maidenhead council is making a final call for those eligible to vote to ensure there are on the electoral roll. Anyone not registered by April 18 will not be allowed to vote on May 3.

All eligible voters must make sure they have returned their registration forms to the Maidenhead Royal Borough in good time. Forms can be down loaded from the council’s website www.rbwm.gov.uk or can be posted by contacting the customer service centre on 01628 683868

Registering is particularly important for anyone who has recently moved home – if they do not register at their new address they risk falling off the electoral register.

Advice on how to register by April 18:

* If you are not sure if you are registered to vote call the helpline on 01628 683868 where staff will be happy to check for you. Remember, you can’t vote if you are not registered and, contrary to popular belief, you are not automatically registered even if you pay council tax.

* Registering to vote is very simple. Once you’ve filled in the form, make sure you return it to reach the electoral services team at the Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead SL6 1RF no later than April 18.
