Head for the Maidenhead Woods and Discover the Wonders of Spring

Maidenhead Families and nature lovers can discover the wonders of the woods as plants, insects and animals spring back into life, on a guided walk organised by the Royal Borough tree wardens.

The stroll, Spring into the Woods, takes place on Sunday April 29 from 2 – 4pm at Inkydown Woods in Bisham, Maidenhead owned by the Woodland Trust which has granted permission for its property to be used. The event forms part of the annual Walk in the Woods national programme supported by the Tree Council to encourage people to rediscover the joys of nature.

Tree wardens will lead the walkabout and reveal some of the strange and the beautiful animal and plant species to be found in the woods.

It is suitable for anyone who can walk unaided; it is not suitable for pushchairs. Children must be accompanied and dogs on leads. Refreshments will be available.

The walk is free and no booking required. The meeting point is on the woodland road off the Marlow Road (A308), about half a mile south of the junction with the A404 (the Bisham roundabout) – Ordnance Survey grid reference SU852842.

Senior Maidenhead countryside ranger Trevor Smith said: “These annual events are lots of fun and there are plenty of things to see. Last year we had a great turnout.”
