Neighbourhood team arrest eight in Maidenhead following drugs warrants

Seven men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences on Thursday (10/6) following the execution of two separate warrants in Maidenhead.

The first warrant was executed at an address in Northumbria Road, Maidenhead at about 3.30pm. A man and a woman in their twenties were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and released on police bail until 6 July pending further enquiries. A third man, also in his twenties, was also arrested but later released without charge. Several bags of cannabis were seized, along with other suspected drugs paraphernalia.

The second Maidenhead warrant was carried out at an address in the North Town area at about 8.30pm. Five men in their late teens and twenties were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and released on police bail until 24 July pending further enquiries. As a result of this warrant, a further four addresses across Maidenhead were searched. A number of items were seized, including several bags of cannabis.

Sgt Martin Littlewood, of the neighbourhood policing team in Maidenhead, said: “The warrants were carried out by the neighbourhood team following information received from the community. We urge people to continue to provide us with information, so that we can continue to carry out warrants such as these.”

The Maidenhead warrants formed part of Operation Falcon, an on-going Force-wide initiative to disrupt drugs activity and associated crime within the Thames Valley. One of the neighbourhood team’s priorities is tackling serious acquisitive crime – including burglary, robbery and car crime – which is often linked to drug use and drug dealing.
